Conference Information
We are excited to announce the 2026 Fall Floodplain Institute will be held in
Asheville at the Crown Plaza resort.
October 14-16, 2026.
We are excited to use AssociationSphere this year because it streamlines the registration process and allows you to manage all your selections in one place. Conference attendance, Sponsorships as well as guest registrations are available on the same site. Note to recieve discounted membership rates you will need to use the members primary email address and can only register one member at a time.
REGISTRATION The early bird full conference registration rate is $275 for NCAFPM members ($350 for non-members) and is applicable through September 16, 2026. After that date, the regular rate will go into effect - $350 for NCAFPM members ($380 for non-members).
One-day rates for NCAFPM members $125 ($140 for non-members)
If you would like to receive the membership rate, and are not a member you will be given an opportunity to join during the registration process.
The registration fee includes sessions and workshops, exhibitor’s social, One (1) lunch, Additional options are available on the registration form to pay for guest social tickets and for the golf tournament. There will also be an outing to the Biltomore Estateto view a variance project that is underway. There is a $20 fee for this outing to cover cost of transportation.
Registration will close at 5:00 PM October 9, 2026.
Refund Policy Full refunds (less credit card fees) can be given if requested by Wednesday September 22, 2026. After September 22, 2026, until registration closes on Friday October 9, 2026, you may receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be issued if you do not provide notice before the conference registration closes. All cancellation requests shall be submitted via email to ncafpm@ncafpm.org. The email system date will be used as determination of the date received.
Presenters Note that all presenters must register for the conference. If a presenter is not attending the conference, please contact Susan Frady for details on how you should register.
Continuing Education There willl be a total of 12 Continuing Education Credits (CECs) available 12 will be awarded for entire conference participation (Wednesday - 3 CECs, Thursday 6 CECs, Friday - 3.0 CECs). Continuing education certificates will be emailed to attendees after the conference. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Susan Frady.
CFM Exam The Certified Floodplain Manager exam will be offered on Friday October 16, 2026. Those who wish to take the exam must apply separately. For NC exam information and application, go to the NCAFPM Certification page.

Guaranteed rooms with king beds and/or ground floor direct outdoor pool access are available at $182.00 per night based on availability.
The above rates are subject to all imposed taxes which are currently 13% per room/per night (7% State Tax, 6% Occupancy Tax). Taxes are subject to change without notice.
Check in time is 3pm. Check out time is 11am. For special consideration on VIP rooms and/or luggage storage, please contact your Crowne Meetings Director/Crowne Meetings Manager in advance.
The hotel has a 48 hour cancellation policy.
Individual reservations cancelled less than 48 hours prior to arrival will be charged one night room and tax.
The hotel requires 24 hour notice for early departure.
Individuals checking out early without 24 hour notice will be charged a $50.00 early departure fee.
Hotel is a smoke free facility. Smoking in sleeping rooms or meeting spaces will result in a $250.00 fine per incident.
Parking fees are waived.
Please note that if you book your room through a third party i.e. Hotels/com, Expedia, etc.. NCAFPM does not get credit for your room against our minimum room bookings requirement which could cost the organization
